About us

Our production line is located in Arnoldstein, bordering Italy and Slovenia. Indigenous types of wood, for instance ash, birch and spruce, are being used to construct rims for bicycles and wheelchairs. Frequently, various types of wood are combined in the same rim; sometimes they are reinforced with carbon fibres. The idea for this product was developed in the course of our studies at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. After more than six years of developing and optimising the wooden rims, we can already refer to many sporting successes.

The wooden rims offer many technical advantages and provide a real alternative to carbon- or aluminium rims. Wood, being low in weight, nevertheless offers very high strength, and because of its good damping characteristics the riding comfort is increased.

Besides the wooden rims, we produce wooden push rings for wheelchairs, too. For the wheelchair driver they tend to feel more pleasant than those made of metal. Especially during cold seasons, the touching of metal and the thus involved cooling of the hands is quite uncomfortable. The wooden push rings can also be fitted subsequently to already existing aluminium wheelchair rims by the customer.
